Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch Will Be Released On 24th July 2020

Speaking about the film, Anderson said, “The story is not easy to explain. It is more a portrait of this man, of this journalist who fights to write down what he wants to write. It’s not a movie about freedom of the press, but once you mention reporters you furthermore may mention what’s happening within the world .” consistent with media reports, ‘The French Dispatch’ film will bring together all elements of Anderson’s previous nine films and many of his recurring collaborators.

Release date

The film’s release date has announced, however, it will hit the screens on 24th July 2020.

Plot

‘The French Dispatch’ is a dramedy set in France, post World War II. The film was initially expected to be a musical, but a report in Indiewire stated that the official synopsis refers to the movie as a “love letter to journalists set of an American newspaper in the 20th Century.

Cast

In the film, Frances McDormand will play the role of Fabian Nurnberger, Bill Murray as Arthur Howitzer Jr., Timothee Chalamet as Zeffirelli, Jeffrey Wright as Roebuck Wright, Christoph Waltz will play the role of Boris Schommers, and Jason Schwartzman as Hermes Jones. It will also see Benicio del Toro, Lea Seydoux, Tilda Swinton, Saoirse Ronan, Kate Winslet, Owen Wilson and Elisabeth Moss making appearances. 

Writer-Director 

This is the tenth film by Wes Anderson – one of the most celebrated filmmakers of the current times. Reports suggest that the director will include elements from his nine previous movies within the dramedy. Some of his best works include ‘The Darjeeling Limited’, ‘Fantastic Mr. Fox’, ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’, and the most recent of his movies, ‘Isle of Dogs’, had nominated for the Academy Award for the Animated Feature Films.

The first poster of ‘The French Dispatch’ had released on February 11. The poster is a graphic image of the office of The French Dispatch. A weekly supplement to the Liberty, Kansas Evening Sun. Superimpose on the cover of an issue featuring the star cast of the film. 

The actors appear as if the characters they play within the film. Feature in several settings that hints at their character traits. The poster also lists actors like Elizabeth Moss, Saoirse Ronan, Liev Schreiber, Edward Norton among others on the poster.
