Donald trump and Xi Jinping discussed over the coronavirus pandemic over a phone call in which the two apparently discussed the tensions between the nations and decided to ease them and pledged cooperation in this bad time.
The leaders spoke after a virtual G-20 meeting that was necessary to do after the social distancing protocols initiated.
Trump mentioned about the conversation in a tweet which he put out on Thursday morning.
Trump has already taken hate for calling the virus as “Chinese virus” and he appeared to be placing the blame at Beijing which according to them covered the outbreak when it first started.
The president has now abandoned the term apparently and he doesn’t regret using it but still thinks that no big deal should be made out of it.
Xi offered support to the US for controlling the disease but no further details were provided. They also mentioned they were ready to enhance the plicies to stabilize markets and shore up growth during this horrifying pandemic.
At the G-20 conference summit, leaders came together and decided to contribute $5 trillion in the global economy aimed at the massive unemployment caused by the coronavirus and for the necessary healthcare.
“The G-20 is committed to do whatever it takes to overcome the pandemic,” They said in a statement.
“Emergency measures aimed at protecting health will be targeted, proportionate, transparent, and temporary,” the statement said. “We are strongly committed to presenting a united front against this common threat.”
