What did NASA announce:
Nasa informed the world about The Supermoon on its Instagram page on 2 April. It informed that in the month of April there a lot of things happening in the sky in the month of April which include Venus appearing inside the Pleiades star cluster, The planetary quartet of Jupiter, Saturn, Mars and the Moon and a supermoon which will be seen in the sky.
When and what’s going to happen:
According to the scientist on April 7 you will see the brightest and the biggest moon of the year. The moon is known as supermoon when the moon is at its closest point to Earth in its orbit thus making the moon to appear bigger and brighter in the sky. The supermoon will be visible at 10:35 PM EDT on April 7. NASA announced the news one week before the anniversary of Apollo 13 mission. The supermoon will be seven per cent bigger and 15 per cent brighter than the average full moon.
The appearance of the moon:
The supermoon is generally called a “pink” moon but its colour will be the same as any normal moon. Its colour will be golden orange when the moon is low in the sky and change to white when the moon rises in the sky. The name “pink” moon has been kept on the name of pink creeping phlox which is the wildflower which blooms in April under April full moon.
