Netflix and WWE studios have something special for you. After the success of ‘Fighting with My Family,’ WWE is returning for another release in the film industry with the collaboration project with Netflix titled ‘The Main Event’ – a family sports film starring as many WWE universe stars than any main event of WWE. Here’s every information we have gathered so far.
Release Date: The Main Event
The film is all set for a digital – worldwide release on Netflix on April 10, 2020. The shooting of the film took place around June and August 2019 in Vancouver. It is the first WWE Studios film to be only exclusive to Netflix as the majority of their films are usually go straight to DVD or a limited theatrical release.
Cast: The Main Event
In the lead cast, Seth Carr, as Leo Thompson, Tichina Arnold as his grandmother. In the supporting cast, we have Ken Marino, Adam Palley, Lisa Durupt, Lucie Guest, Paul Lazenby, Dallas Young, and Glen Gordon.
Many WWE Superstars are also going to make an appearance like Kofi Kingston, Corey Graves, Sheamus, The Miz, and John Cena, to name a few.
Storyline: The Main Event
The film follows a bullied 11-year-old boy – Leo Thompson, who dreams of growing up to be a wrestler. And his dreams come true once he discovers a magical wrestling mask that grants him superpower.
The film is directed by Jay Karas, known for his works in sitcoms like Superstore and Parks & Recreation.
