While there are many bizarre treatments to cure those who are infected with coronavirus or COVID – 19 are doing rounds on social media, most of them are not true. As of now, there has been no discovery of this virus as yet, and these claims posted by social media users have no scientific proof to them. So do not believe such cures and remedies.
There’s the latest home remedy that’s going viral on the internet that suggests inhaling the steam of sea salt, and orange peelings can help in preventing COVID 19.
These posts were shared by Facebook users Linwood Waller and Deidrea Mcfadden on their Facebook accounts, and it went among the users. Here are some archives of their posts and other threads.
Instead of believing in these home remedies, there are some precautionary steps that you can follow, as instructed by WHO ( World Health Organisation). You can protect yourself and help prevent spreading the virus to others if you:
- Wash your hands regularly for about 20- 30 seconds with soap and water or an alcohol-based hand rub/ sanitizer
- Cover your nose and mouth with a disposable tissue when you sneeze or cover with your elbow.
- Avoid close contact with people who are infected with a distance of 1 – 3 meters distance.
- Social distancing and self – isolation can be a big help in preventing and breaking the cycle of COVID – 19.
Don’t Touch your eyes, mouth with an unclean hand.
