Four Prime time Award winner American comedy television drama ‘Russian Doll’ is going to be back on Netflix soon. The game developer stuck in a time loop on her 36th birthday made quite a famous appearance on Netflix last year.
Release date for season two
First season was definitely a hit. It aired on 1st February in 2019 on Netflix. It was soon renewed for season two in June. Creator Natasha Lyonne announced the second season on 11 June 2019 on Twitter through a video and she looked pretty excited about it.
There is no official date for release announced yet. We can expect to see Nadia back with the mystery sometime in 2020.
The comedy drama is based on the mysterious life event of a software engineer and a game developer – Nadia.
Nadia who gets invited to her 36th birthday party thrown by her friend Maxine and dies on the party night. Next day she finds herself reliving the same day again and mysteriously dies on the same time again. She soon realises that she is stuck in some video game reality and she is not the only one. She meets Alan Zaveri who is also stuck in the same situation after he commits suicide. The show is based on their journey to unravel the mystery.
First season was weird, funny and full of surprises. We can’t predict what is going to happen in season two as creators are not letting a single thing out about the plot line.
Natasha Lyonne is the co-creator of the show with Leslye Headland and Amy Poehler. First season was directed by Jamie Babbit along with Natasha and Leslye.
Nadia Vulvokov is played by Natasha Lyonne herself while her child self is played by Brooke Timber. She is going to be back in season two for sure.
Also we expect to see Alan Zaveri played by Charlie Barnett in season two.
It is not confirmed yet if Greta Lee who played Nadia’s friend Maxine will be back or not. In the first season Yul Vazquez played Nadia’s ex boyfriend John Reyes and Elizabeth Ashley appeared as her childhood friend and a therapist – Ruth Brenner.
