Peninsula movie said to show the events four years after Train to Busan directed by the same South Korean zombie film director Yeon Sang-ho. The film Train to Busan made around $93.1 Million in the worldwide box-office becoming the fourth famous Korean film of all time.
Peninsula Movie Release Date
The release date was announced by French media on 3rd December 2019 that the premier will be on 12th August 2020. It was confirmed that the movie will be released in the Summer of 2020 yet no official details have been decided regarding the premiere dates in or outside Korea.
Cast
Kang Dong Won, Lee Re, Kwon HaeHyo, Lee Jung Hyun, Goo Kyo Hwan, and Kim Min Jae have been confirmed as cast members staring at the movie Peninsula. Many cast members in the second installment are still unknown. This time the movie’s budget is twice the size of Train to Busan.
Storyline
Peninsula takes place after four years since the outbreak of the zombie apocalypse that chased the protagonists on the train from Seoul to Busan. Jung-Seok, a retired soldier who was able to escape overseas will be heading back to Korea’s peninsula on a mission and ends up meeting unexpected survivors who survived after the outbreak.
Details
Train to Busan takes place mostly on a train going from Seoul to Busan as a zombie apocalypse breaks out in the country, threatening the safety of everyone aboard the train. The film premiered on 13th May 2016 and set a record as the first Korean film of 2016 to break the record of over 10 million theatergoers. It showcases the reunion for Gong Yoo and Jung Yu-mi who bother stared in the 2011 film The Crucible.
