Renowned filmmaker Quentin Tarantino worked his magic once again when he introduced the world to Cliff Booth and Rick Dalton in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. The charm of old Hollywood glamour and glitz made its way into the audiences’ hearts.
The movie revolves around the life of Rick, who is a struggling actor having found fame earlier, and his long time stunt double Cliff trying to navigate themselves towards meaningful work. Living next door is actress and model, Sharon Tate (portrayed by Margot Robbie) and her husband Roman Polanski.
The likes of Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie leading the cast, coupled with Tarantino’s vision guaranteed a sure shot success for the film.
The film received several accolades including a whopping 10 nominations at the Academy Awards. Out of which it won two – one for Best Production Design and one for Best Supporting Actor(Pitt).
With this amount of unprecedented success, it is natural to hope for a sequel that might, perhaps, carry the story forward. The sequel might go on to show the uneventful night of Sharon Tate’s murder or even more.
But, is a sequel really happening? Read on to find out.
Is a Sequel Coming Out?
Unfortunately, a full-length feature film is not in discussions as of now. Hence, it is highly unlikely that it may out even later. However, multiple sources have confirmed Quentin Tarantino’s plan to release a Netflix mini-series as he did for “The Hateful Eight” earlier in 2019.
Brad Pitt had himself also confirmed that there might be a possibility of one saying that Tarantino had, indeed, discussed the idea. If you don’t know what a mini-series is, let me break it down for you:
The revamped version of a release that Tarantino is so favorable of, are four or five-episode series featuring all the theatrical cuts and extended versions of his movies.
In this case, the actual movie (Once Upon A Time In Hollywood) before the theatrical cut was 4 hours and 20 minutes. Post the theatrical cut, it was reduced to just 2 hours and 40 minutes. So, it is quite obvious that there are a lot of unseen footage that audiences will get a glimpse of.
When Will It Air?
With the plan of the mini-series still in its nascent stage, a release date has not yet been set.
However, If Things Go as Planned, Fans Might Get It in Around 2022.
