No One Will Keep Calm as The Witcher Season 2 is Confirmed!

Witcher was a confusing mix of mystery and violence which got us hooked to its amazing theme song. The writer of the show, Lauren Hissrich confirmed that they intend to launch the show before the end of 2021. So it is confirmed to be in the making and we can expect another few hours of a very heated binge-watching session before the end of next year.

The characters of Henry Cavill (Geralt), Anya Chalotra (Yennefer) and Freya Allan (Ciri) will all return for The Witcher season 2. The cast of the show is said to have 2 new additions, Paul Bullion and Yasen Atour.

Witcher 2 is reportedly said to take us all to the land of training, the Kaer Morhen Netflix has confirmed the cast to include-

Kim Bodnia, probably to pay Vesemir. All the fans who were hoping for it to be Mark Hamill, have to take a back seat and agree that Bodnia is a great choice.

Kristofer Hivju, the famous Tormund from GOT, Thue Ersted Rasmussen, Mecia Simson, Carmel Laniado, Aisha Fabienne and Agnes Bjorn.

Returning characters will include Jaskier, Triss, Aemon Farren, Tissaia, Filavandrel, Stregobor, Artorius, Sabrina, Murta, Yarpen, Zigrin and Istredd.

We know that Witcher took place over a span of 40 years. This was loosely based on the book, ‘the last wish’ by A. Sapkowski. As the writers have earlier mentioned they will try taking the content from Sapowski’s work, the second season is likely to run along the storyline of his works, ‘blood of elves’ and ‘time of contempt’.

Season 1 ended with bringing all the loose ends together, so we can mostly expect a straightforward plot from season 2. Even if the plot is very straightforward, we can expect a few bombs to be dropped with all the plot twists we got to see in season 1.

All we have left to do now is keep cooking up fan theories and wait for Netflix to release season 2. All of us who cannot keep the theme song out of our heads, it might not be too late before the second season airs, so keep humming along.
