Mewtwo Strikes Back EVOLUTION to stream on Netflix soon!

Mewtwo Strikes Back: EVOLUTION is a Japanese animated film from the Pokémon franchise directed by Kunihiko Yuyama and Motonori Sakakibara, released in 2019. It would be a CGI remake of the first film and would be released on the live streaming platform, Netflix. Having woken up from deep sleep after several years, Mewtwo is enraged at finding himself being an experiment. He unleashes his wrath on humanity, as he escapes to New Island. Ash, Pikachu, Brock, Misty and Togepi finds themselves entangled in the series of destruction and sets out to save the world. Team Rocket continues to plan devious methods to stop Ash and his friends from saving the world so that they can take over Mewtwo and become the heroes.

It was revealed that a film from the Pokémon franchise would be made on December 14, 2018 despite the death of Unsho Ishizuka in August the same year. To the delight of fans worldwide, The Pokémon Company International announced that the movie would be released as a Netflix Original in all countries except Japan and Korea on Pokémon Day, that is February 27, 2020; becoming the first Pokémon movie to release on a streaming platform ever.
