As the number of cases of coronavirus continues to infect more and more people across the globe which includes many big politicians all across the globe one of whom was British prime minister Boris Johnson who has luckily recovered from the virus. Two new names have been added to this list, two Brazilian state governors, Governors Wilson Witzel of Rio de Janeiro and Helder Barbalho of the northern state of Para.
The two State governor earlier had criticised President Jair Bolsonaro’s decision to give little relaxation in lockdown measures had announced that they both have been tested positive with the coronavirus. Both of them posted a video on Twitter to inform about them being tested positive and urged the people to stay at home to fight against this unseen enemy.
Witzel has from beginning advocated to close all non-essential businesses and to order the people to stay at their home. He told that he started to develop symptoms like fever, sore throat and loss of smell which are symptoms of coronavirus. He said that “Today, the test result came back positive. Now, thank God, I’m feeling better, and will continue working while following my doctors’ advice”. “I ask you once again to stay home, because this disease, as everyone can see, spreads quickly and doesn’t spare anyone”. Barbara, 40, also came forward and made a similar appeal.
They both warned the people that the virus is highly infectious and doesn’t see age or class. Everyone is at the risk of the virus so everyone should stay at home and be safe. Bolsonaro has earlier attacked the social distancing policies and said that he can’t destroy the country economy due to a disease. He has earlier termed coronavirus as a “little flu.” Witzel accused Bolsonaro’s of neglecting the guidelines from the United Nations and World Health Organization and termed it as a “crime against humanity.”
