That 70’s Show actor Danny Masterson has been charged for rape with three women between 2001 and 2003 as informed by the LA County’s District Attorney’s office. He forcibly raped a 23-year-old sometime between October and December of 2003 and another 28-year-old woman in the same year. Another woman of 23 years who he raped sometime in 2001.
Masterson Charged with Rape
There had been three charges filed against Masterson on Tuesday and the actor was arrested on late Wednesday morning. He was later released after a few hours after posting a bond.
The 44-year-old. was charged with three counts of rape and if convicted he could be sentenced to 45 years in prison. In two other Masterson cases investigated by police, prosecutors declined to file charges, one because of inadequate evidence and the other because the limitations status had expired.
Masterson is being repressed by Mesereau who has previously represented Michael Jackson and Bill Cosby in their sexual crimes. Mesereau recently opened up about the case and said, “Obviously, Mr. Masterson and his wife are in complete shock considering that these nearly 20-year old allegations are suddenly resulting in charges being filed, but they and their family are comforted knowing that ultimately the truth will come out.”
He further added, “The people who know Mr. Masterson know his character and know the allegations to be false.”
The names of the women who have filed the cases are still not made public and their attorneys have helped in issuing the statement. They have reportedly been suffering from “harassment, embarrassment, and re-victimization” since the cooperation with the authorities.
