The actors who were originally in the cast throughout Buffy the Vampire Slayer are pretty excited about the new version. There is a possibility that the popular show might come back in the form of a new version. They showed their excitement in an online Q&A which was hosted by Wizard World.
Possibility for a new version?
During the Q&A, throughout the event on Saturday, were hopeful. The cast of Buffy the Vampire Slayer who were present during the event were Amber Benson, Camden Toy, Clarke Kramer, and some more. Marsters, who played Spike on Buffy and Angel was also there. He stated that he is very hopeful for something new for this generation. He also said that he knows it is not coming super soon but it is still on the way.
What will this new version of Buffy the Vampire Slayer?
This new version of Buffy the Vampire Slayer will be modern. It was announced back in 2018. It is being created by Monica Owusu-Breen. However, she is not alone. She is working on this project along with the creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, original one. Monica stated that the new show will take place in the modern world and it won’t exactly be totally new if compared to the original series. However, the show will focus a new Slayer and it will also maintain the continuity of the og series.
What did the original cast say about this new show?
Marsters stated that since the show might take place throughout the original Buffy universe. He would be more than willing to make a guest appearance on the modern show.
Amber Benson, who used to play Tara during the show, expressed her excitement too. She stated that it would be amazing to see the show have a reboot. She expressed her views saying that the original show lacked diversity in the cast but this one might have it. If a woman of colour will lead the show as the protagonist, it would be awesome. She would represent the a whole lot of communities and especially, the world. Benson is very hopeful about the future of this upcoming tv show.
As of now, we have no idea as to when this new show will come. Hopefully, we will have more information throughout the coming months. Right now, everything must have been affected due to the ongoing pandemic but who knows what will happen in the future.
