In this volatile world of Hollywood, it is very unpredictable to determine which actor or actress might achieve fame while which actor would perish from the spotlight at a moment’s notice. Such is the world where remaining in the spotlight and among the centre of public attraction is very difficult. While some have through their work been able to remain etched in the memory of the audience as a figure of authority and ardent adulation, some have not been that successful in retaining their place in the heart of the audience for a longer period of time. Such is the story of one Rick Moranis.
Who is Rick Moranis?
Rick Moranis was a Canada Toronto the born actor who had majorly plied his trade as a comedian. However, he began his career as a disc jockey after which she slowly shifted his profession to become a comedian. In the late 1970’s he started out as a professional comedian with famous actors like Steve Martin. Slow Rick made a transition into Hollywood movies with his sheer comic timing and his diminutive height of 5 foot 5 inches. He was able to extract a lot of laugh out of his audiences. Some of his most famous works include Ghostbusters and Baby I Shrink Them series. He became one of the most recognizable comedic faces on screen through his performances.
Why did he leave Hollywood?
It was after his wife’s death that his life turned upside down. His wife died from cancer and the responsibility of raising the two kids they had fell upon him. Rick said in interviews that it was difficult for him to manage work and raise children simultaneously. Thus he took a little break from the cinema, and then it became a long break after which he realized that he did not actually miss making movies as much. He had completely removed himself from film making. His long sabbatical and absence from Hollywood had made his love for cinema sustain but he never felt the urge to return to that world where he would become busy with his work. He said it in interviews that at that juncture investing time on his children were much more important.
Even after leaving Hollywood and not being an active member of the Hollywood film fraternity, Rick had an estimated Net Worth of around $10 million. It is a considerable amount according to Rick but he could have earned much more had he been actively involved with movies.
