The number of deaths due to coronavirus in New York now has come to 728 raised from 519 on the previous day to 385 on Thursday said Andrew Cuomo, the governor. Currently, New York is the epicenter of the virus pandemic and has way more cases confirmed than any other state in the nation: more than 52,000.
Over 177,000 people have been tested till now and hospitalizations are expected to jam-packed in another 14 days.
Trump has given out four more sites to be used as emergency sites: the New York Expo Center in the Bronx, the Aqueduct Racetrack in Queens, the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal and the College of Staten Island, Cuomo said.
The hospitals are believed to add 4,000 beds to the state’s capacity.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, Cuomo said that the state is delaying its presidential primary and extending the state’s tax filing deadline to July 15.
